Send us on our way!

First leg of the travel adventure is complete with a great road trip.  Rob, Maggie and I drove safely to San Diego after staying the night in Utah.  The drive from CO to CA was windy but otherwise uneventful.  Currently I am writing this post in LAX as we wait to board our plane.  The visit in San Diego was brief but perfect because we had enough time to visit with family and tie up the last few loose ends before we leave the country.  Today we were required to present Maggie to the pet transportation company in Los Angeles at 9 am for one last vet visit.  She passed with flying colors and we had the rest of the day to enjoy Los Angeles sunshine and have a long lunch with my best friend from college, Erin.  Her husband, David and her dog, Lucy, joined Rob, my parents and I for a stroll down the Santa Monica Promenade and pier.  We wanted to tire out Maggie before crating her and I think we achieved our goal.  Most people know, it takes a lot to make me cry and the tears were flowing as we placed Maggie in her crate for the flight.  However, she had so many treats, she might ask us to fly her again in the future... maybe.  Once we have internet access in Melbourne, I'll send a post to recap the flight.  Ok Australia- here we come!

  3. Suzanne- Wow! I can't believe you're actually in Australia! I was so happy to get your text today. Thank you! Of course Mom did NOT get your text and has since called me 4 times today to ask about you and whether or not I've gotten any more texts from you! She is worried about Maggie and wants to know how she did on the long flight. I'm sure you'll cover this in your next blog post, Mom would really appreciate it! On the plus side, not having contact with you, Mom did actually FIND your blog on her iPad and now is able to read your posts so I don't have to tell her about them! We all love you and miss you and are so proud of you! Keep posting!
